How Can I Benefit my Auto Racing Using Criticism From Others?

Driver:

How do I filter out criticism and use constructive comments to my advantage when my team members give me feedback about my driving abilities and how do I learn to benefit from it?

Dr. Cohn’s Answer:

Sometimes it’s hard to take harsh or even constructive criticism from team members. One thing you have to keep in mind is that your driving does not define who you are as a person. This mean you should try not to take criticism about your driving skills like it is a personal attack. Be able to separate the person from the driver. Also, keep an open mind about suggestions for improving your driving. Don’t immediately write it off as bull until you have had a chance to think about it. Be objective about the comments you get from team members. This mean not getting emotional about the comments and taking down a dead end road to frustration and anger.
