How Do I Stay Positive with A Slow Car?

Driver:

How do I stay positive and not get down when I am driving bad equipment and I cannot do anything about it?

Dr. Cohn’s Answer:

You have a choice to make in any situation. You can choose to be upset and let the car get your down, which may feel natural to do but not a good idea for your sanity and ability to make the best of it. The other option is to let go of your frustration and disappointment with the car and try to make the best of the situation. This means racing to your ability without negative emotions or the monkey on the back. What can you control in this situation? You can control your driving, driving the car to it’s limit, your mental focus, and improving your driving that day. After the race, you can get upset with the car if you choose to or do something about it.
