If you or your athletes are tense, worry about outcomes, or bring stress from life into competition, performance will suffer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Does performance anxiety or pregame tension hold you back from performing your best?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on the feedback I received from athletes and coaches who have enjoyed <strong>The Confident Athlete Series CD and Workbook Programs<\/strong>, pregame anxiety or tension is a snag to a relaxed performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this reason, we are working hard to develop a solution to this mental game roadblock. But I need your help&#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given a choice, most people said they would want &#8220;<strong>The Relaxed Athlete<\/strong>&#8221; to be the next program in The Confident Athlete Series over &#8220;<strong>The Mentally Prepared Athlete<\/strong>.&#8221; This surprised me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(If you are not familiar with <strong>The Confident Athlete CD programs<\/strong>, you can read more about them here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peaksports.com\/the-confident-athlete-cd-series\/\"><strong>https:\/\/www.peaksports.com\/the-confident-athlete-cd-series\/<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, I had several people ask me, &#8220;Aren&#8217;t these two programs really the same? The Relaxed Athlete would be great, but wouldn&#8217;t being mentally prepared lead to ultimate relaxation?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought more about this and they were right &#8211; good mental preparation leads to a relaxed and confident performance! So, I decided to combine these two program into one!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Here_is_where_you_come_in%E2%80%A6\"><\/span>Here is where you come in&#8230;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I need your input about to the top pregame stressors for you or the athletes you coach. Allow me to prompt you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Some examples of pregame stress include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tension or worry about results<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feeling unprepared to compete, which leads to anxiety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Worry about performing well in the &#8220;big game&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training all year and needing to be at your best for one or two events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feeling stressed about the quality of your competition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Most athletes report that the above sources of pregame stress can cause the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tight performances<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tentative performances<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feeling physically tired before competition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Getting uptight about mistakes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physical changes such as sweaty palms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lack of trust<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To help me help you or your athletes better, please give me your input.
