<strong>focus<\/strong> tends to heighten counter-productive emotions and prolong poor performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resilient golfers are able to <strong>focus<\/strong> on the next shot, not the last shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resilient golfers can manage their emotions so that they remain in control on their performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While talent is important in a golfer, it isn\u2019t enough. To play at your peak, you need to develop the mental skill of resiliency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_a_%E2%80%9Cresilient_golfer%E2%80%9D\"><\/span>What is a \u201cresilient golfer\u201d?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The definition of <strong>resiliency<\/strong> is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resiliency is the hallmark of <strong>mental<\/strong> <strong>toughness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A resilient golfer is one who can recover quickly after a poor shot or hole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resilient golfers can make adjustments on the fly despite poor course or weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resilient golfers learn from their mistakes and turn setbacks into progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resilient golfers stay confident after a bad tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_is_%E2%80%9Cresiliency_developed%E2%80%9D\"><\/span>How is \u201cresiliency developed\u201d?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, resiliency is not a genetic characteristic. That is great news!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there is no resiliency gene then resilience can be developed through some conscious awareness and <strong>focused<\/strong> work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you can learn to harness your emotions, your composure will be stronger in difficult situations and you will play better golf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But there is a huge myth regarding <strong>resiliency<\/strong>. Many athletes view resiliency as a reaction or something that happens after the fact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resiliency is a mental tool that you have in place before you experience a performance roadblock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resiliency is like preventative medicine that helps you control your emotions prior to stressful situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resiliency allows you to keep an even keel and in your optimal emotional performance zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resiliency is developed through practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By creating pressure situations in practice and remaining calm, you teach your brain to stay <strong>poised<\/strong> in critical moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But remember, improving your mental game requires <strong>focus<\/strong> and <strong>repetition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your game will improve dramatically if you commit to developing resiliency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Try_these_tips_to_increase_your_resiliency\"><\/span>Try these tips to increase your resiliency:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tip #1: You should put yourself in stressful situations in practice. True confidence is enduring and stable.
