And is it hard to get work with new athletes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before Douglas Finney, a recent MGCP graduate, started working with athletes, she owned a mental health practice in psychotherapy. But she soon became excited about the prospect of working more with athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Douglas first became interested in <strong>sports psychology<\/strong> when she attended a clinical conference on sports hypnosis. Ten years later, she devotes a small part of her practice to coaching athletes on the <strong>mental game<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She loved working with athletes because they&#8217;re very <strong>motivated <\/strong>and interested in self-actualization or <strong>peak performance<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Douglas enrolled in the MGCP program last semester. According to her, the course helped her transition her mental health practice to do more mental coaching with athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"She_had_this_to_say_about_the_MGCP_course\"><\/span>She had this to say about the MGCP course:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I loved the MGCP course. I got so much material. I got so many assessment tools for working with individual athletes and coaches.
