id=\"Confidence_can_also_impact_other_mental_skills\"><\/span>Confidence can also impact other mental skills.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, when <strong>confidence<\/strong> is fragile, it\u2019s likely that you\u2019ll be <strong>distracted<\/strong> easily and struggle to <strong>focus<\/strong> in the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"For_many_volleyball_players_confidence_depends_on_their_immediate_play\"><\/span>For many volleyball players, confidence depends on their immediate play.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You may go into a match feeling pretty <strong>confident,<\/strong> but after a couple mistakes, your <strong>confidence<\/strong> tanks and it becomes hard for you to play through the rest of the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, maybe your coach or a teammate reprimands you for something and that smacks down your <strong>confidence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You might also watch a team during warm-ups and wonder how you could possibly compete with them. It\u2019s likely that changes the level of your <strong>confidence<\/strong> as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a volleyball player, instead of having fragile <strong>confidence,<\/strong> a <strong>confidence<\/strong> that is easily influenced by other factors (mistakes, coaches, teammates, parents, etc.), you want to have a <strong>proactive,<\/strong> stable <strong>self-confidence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notice I said <strong>&#8220;SELF&#8221;-<\/strong> confidence&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Confidence_starts_and_finishes_with_you_%E2%80%9Cthe_self%E2%80%9D\"><\/span>Confidence starts and finishes with you, &#8220;the self.&#8221;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You don\u2019t want anything else to influence your belief in your ability to perform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To begin to develop proactive, stable <strong>self-confidence,<\/strong> you want take note of your strengths as a player and any recent accomplishments you\u2019ve had while playing volleyball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Write down your talents and abilities&#8211;and review them before competition.
